I'm a 21 y/o boxing fan. I analyze fight match ups before boxers fight, read and watch boxing history to supplement my boxing knowledge, read different rules of boxing, score fights (even multiple times if the decision is close and controversial), I even watch local boxing matches with unknown boxers.
Most of the young people nowadays just criticize and hate on something that they don't understand. The truth is... They don't even know what they're talking about, don't understand what they're degrading, and didn't even gave a chance to something they don't understand. Most are too lazy to even study how something works like boxing.
They go and watch a boxing match and say it's a "bore fest" when a boxer is defensive, or when they watch a MMA match and gets upset when fighters grapple on the mat. The truth of the matter is, they simply don't understand whatsoever what is happening and why are the boxers and MMA fighters are doing those things. They just don't know what's going on.
Most even think that a jab doesn't hurt, think that non-KO artists throw non-hurting punches, think that fighting on the back foot and defensiveness are signs of cowardice, compare fighters based on their opponents instead of comparing based on skills and assets, etc.
Are they too lazy to invest a little time to understand and study something?
Are they just too feeble minded that their lack of interest in a certain thing makes them hate it without knowing it?
Or they just go with the flow with what other people are saying/thinking instead of making their own judgment like saying "boxing is dead or is dying" even if it's not and just decreased in popularity to the masses?
The sad reality is... There are less and less sensible people nowadays, and it makes me sad.
Rant over.
