Okay, kids... Here's one guaranteed to polarize opinions and get blood boiling...
Joe Louis vs Muhammad Ali
I used to think this was an easy victory for Ali... you know the tired argument that if Conn whipped Louis for 13 rounds, and Louis had trouble with movers oo(which he could and did)... But the reality was that Conn didn't run the whole time, and Ali was much more hittable in his "untouchable" ''66 and '67 peak than legend and highlights preserve (and have you think)...
I would accept an Ali unanimous decision, or even a late TKO/KO, but at this point, I say Louis finishes what Cooper and Banks started. Louis bangs his body, cuts him off, and hits him harder and more often, and capitalizes on Chuvalo's work... Ali wasn't untouchable. He was hittable and could be cut off. The people that were successful weren't good enough to capitaliize on the opportunities they got or didn't hit hard or often or smart enough to make it count. Louis would have, or could have.
For the longest time, I would have bet my right arm on an Ali win, but after watching peak performances from both, I say Louis stops Ali. He stops him late.
Louis may suffer an early knockdown to get up, makes an adjustment, and cuts Ali off, slows him down with body work, and starts connecting with fast, hard combinations mid-late rounds...
He scores with a big left hook that begins the end for Muhammad in the 12th... He rains punches and Ali is stops on his feet.
Louis TKO12

Louis TKO12 I say Joe Louis has to break Ali down early by taking his legs away from him. He has to stay on Ali not let him get a rhythm because Ali would box to win by points. I pick Ali by decision.
