Boxer Share – Boxer Creation Approach March 22nd, 2011 BEE rsz_1vlcsnap-2011-03-21-23h04m13s109
We will be releasing Boxer Share packs shortly, 8 fighters from the past and present that are not included on FNC for your downloading pleasure. Stay tuned for the first pack, here is the thought process behind the ratings.
Scouting reports are available in the Ring Magazine archives for most fighters. This along with the punch stats total from fights recorded since 1985. 45% or higher jab connection rate, will generate a jab rating of 90 percent of the stars colored or higher.
The straight right connection rate works the same way, but since its a power punch, the effectiveness or power potential is measured by the time it drops or hurts an opponent is factored to boost the rating to enable the flash knockdowns a one punch knockouts.
Heart was judged by statistics such as wins after being knocked down, with even more points given for KO’s after a knock down. Fighters such as Nigel Benn, with a history of wins after being floored, will register high marks in this formula.
Chin ratings were decided by looking at punch stats for the fighters during the compubox era. The amount of punches taken compared to the times the fighter has been down or knocked out. In addition, simply looking at the total rounds fought, comparing that total to the total times down and or knocked out.
Body punches were mostly rated based on the accounts of experts from previous eras and video was used to properly rate contemporary fighters.
Hopefully, this helps shed light on the thought process, please leave any questions or comments.
